REVIEW: Impaled Nazarene are old school black metal. They''ve been around for awhile, but this is their first live album and it''s definitely black metal. If you''re a fan of old school Slayer and any form of black metal, you''ll probably be into this. I''m probably going to get alot of shit for this because they''re supposed to be one of the "gods" of black metal, but fuck it. I like some black metal, so I''m not against it. But most of it all sounds the same, there''s nothing extraordinary by any stretch of the imagination and it gets very old very fast, but like I said, if you''re into this kind of no melody black metal, it''s definitely worth a listen as it''s recorded quite well and you got alot of tracks, granted most of them are pretty short. After about track 6, you''ve pretty much heard what all 26 tracks sound like. The musical skills are commendable, but it is what it is: Finnish Black Metal. It's supposed to be fast, heavy and repetetive and that's exactly what it is.
