REVIEW: I bought this album with high hopes and admittedly, at first I was pretty disappointed. Aside from the radio single "Here to Stay", this album doesn''t sound like the standard Korn that I''m used to. However, I finally went back and gave it another spin and decided that, though it doesn''t seem much like how my brain thinks a Korn album would sound, overall it''s still a great hard rock album.
Untouchables, while still heavy with guitar, is full of strange effects, electronics, keyboards and synthesizers which all create an eerie ambient atmoshere around many of the songs. Where the songwriting is concerned, it''s a HUGE step from Korn''s past outings. Songs like "Hollow Life", "Make Believe", "Thoughtless" and "Alone I Break" represent a ever-more capable band. The entire band seems to improve on each album and this one is no exception. If you''re hoping for another self-titled or Life is Peachy or even Follow the Leader, you won''t find it here. What you will find is a new more versatile Korn.
