REVIEW: This album marks the return of original vocalist Peter Dolving and his vocals ranging from Pantera to Slayer and everything in between. In short, I'd say that this album is what Slayer would sound like if they formed today; with a tendency towards very groove-laden riffs and the dual guitar masterwork. This album isn't as dark or quite as completely skull crushing as One Kill Wonder, but that's not to say that The Haunted sacrificed anything or sold out; To the contrary, I personally enjoy this album more due to its diversity and wider musical spectrum, most notably in "Abysmal" and "Burnt to a Shell", with Peter travelling at times into vocal territory reminicent of Alice in Chains. "Liquid Burns" is an awesome track, reminding a bit of Pantera.
This biggest difference between this album and it's predecessor is this albums ability to add a bit more melody and tempo changes without compromising a bit on the heavy. Overall, if you like screaming vocals, heavy guitar solos and double-bass drums get you off, then pick this one up.
